Susan and David own and operate a microbusiness, Touright Bicycle Shop, in Little Falls, MN. Our goal is to provide customers with quality products and exceptional services. Our mission is to help make the community healthier and strong by giving all people the chance to experience the benefits of bicycling. To this end we have established a 501c3 Nonprofit: Little Falls Bicycles (LFB). Little Falls Bicycles needs space to conduct this mission and is interested in purchasing a new building.
LFB seeks to uplift the greater Little Falls area by providing bicycle related opportunities to ALL. Bicycle riding is extremely beneficial to both a persons physical and mental well-being. LFB wants to increase the ridership of ALL individuals regardless of ability, age, or income.
Our current location is not viable for expansion needed to meet the needs of the community. Once LFB acquires a building it would rent a portion of the space to Touright. Touright, in turn, will provide the expertise needed to operate a non-profit successfully as well as the assistance of the bicycle repair and knowledge necessary to fulfill the mission. Additional space would allow for expanded programs and mission.
· Teach everyone how to ride a bike.
· Teach bicycle repair and maintenance
· Launch a mechanics mentoring / co-op for those who desire to learn job skills
· Bike refurbishment of used bikes donated to LFB and distributed to individuals who need reliable transportation and or the health benefits that bike riding provides. Distribution would be in coordination with other local non-profit service agencies.
· Recycling old bike and parts. Either to be used on refurbished bikes or simply recycled in appropriate manor.
· Become a community gathering space to foster and enhance healthy lifestyles and inter-generational relationships.
The benefits to the community are obvious.
We love to help people in the area ride bicycles.
